The second entry in our Series Close-up is "No Moon, No Stars", another early variant in the Alaskan Drawing series. It portrays the deep purple darkness of a moonless night.
The historic photo below, from the National Archives, transmits the same eerie darkness, although in this case with the moon peeking through the clouds. Resurrection Bay is on the Kenai Peninsula, which extends south of Anchorage below Turnagain Arm.
